Summary

Busan is Korea’s second largest city and the largest trade port city. East and South side meet the sea. It is located in the southeast of Korea and covers an area of 765.82 km² and has a population of 3.55 million. It is about 450 km away from Seoul, the capital of Korea. Busan has hosted G-STAR, an international game exhibition, and has extended such hosting right for next 4 years on this February. In addition, by hosting International Telecommunication Union’s significant event, ITU Telecom World 2017, which is a global Information and Communication Technology fair, Busan shows great enthusiasm to esports as well as IT industry.

Busan International Passenger Terminal is the core facility of the redevelopment project that Busan Port plays a symbolic role as the gateway of the maritime city and is to become a global tourist attraction. It is located near Busan Station and has a land area of 154,022 m² and a complex structure of five floors. It opened in August 2015. This year, Esports World Championship and Global Esports Executive Summit will be held at the convention center on the 5th floor and more than 400 delegates from 35 countries are expected to gather.
