SAUDI ARABIA VS. JAPAN esports Match Implementation

At this time, Saudi Arabia is focusing on actively developing its culture, amusement and sports industries for reforming the current oil resource economy. We decided to hold this match because an association between both Saudi Arabia and Japan could surely lead to each of their own gaming industries being developed further. In addition to this, Saudi Arabia and Japan’s cooperation could help to deepen their friendly ties.

For the signing ceremony and press conference, we invited His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, the chairman of both Saudi Arabian Federation for Electronic and Intellectual Sports and Arab Esports Federation. We announced the match outline and a prize total of 30million JPY for the winning team.

With regards to holding the international goodwill match, their ambition towards esports development in both countries and the friendship between Saudi Arabia and Japan, Prince Faisal commented: We are extremely delighted about initiating the Saudi-Japan Tournament with the Japanese eSports Union (JeSU).
At the Saudi Arabian Federation for Electronic and Intellectual Sports, (SAFEIS) we believe in growing and supporting the gaming community and economy and to provide athletes with the platform to shine and show their skill. These games are one step towards that goal for both countries. I know this is only the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship for both countries.

Also Mr. Okamura, chairman of JeSU commented: I am very glad to have “Saudi-Japan esports match”. I sincerely hope that this will drive further expansion of esports culture, enhance our relationship, and create new opportunities for esports athletes for both countries. And for that, we will do our best to make this project a big success.

We, JeSU, constantly strive to develop and popularize “esports” in Japan even more, including with this goodwill match. Thank you very much for your kind consideration.
