IeSF Athletes’ Commission nominates Jason Batzofin as Chair

International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) Athletes’ Commission announced that Jason Batzofin (South Africa) has been nominated as the Chair of Athletes’ Commission in August 2017.

The Athletes’ Commission chair will now be sitting as a Board member of IeSF to deliver the voices of esports athletes to the Board of IeSF, and also to actively participate in decision making processes to be more focused on athlete driven initiatives. As the first chair, the main focus will be on building a platform and communication channel for esports athletes to voice freely on national and international level, for athlete voices, interest, and welfare to be heard directly to esports national federations and IeSF.

Jason Batzofin has been the Junior World Champion for Historical Wargames-Ancients Period, and has also been the Counter Strike Player and athlete representative of South Africa (MSSA) in 2015. Madeleine Leander (Sweden), the gold medalist for StarCraft 2 in 2013 Esports World Championships, was nominated as Vice Chairperson.

The Athletes’ Commission was inaugurated at the 1st Global Esports Executive Summit 2016 in Shanghai, China. To take more active footsteps the Athletes’ Commission supported to attend the Esports World Championships in 2016 and also have been invited to the General Meeting to “look and feel” the current structures in place. The nomination of the first chair and vice-chair this august is the step to systemize the Athletes’ Commission and to take further steps to develop the foundation in the future.
