IESF 2020 Esports Referee Academy is underway

IESF had received many applicants for the upcoming Referee Academy Program, after announcing registration through member national federations earlier this month.

Ramil Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan Cyber Sport Federation which had already submitted candidates for such program, said: “I believe that the participation of as many referees as possible from the National Federations at courses of this kind supported by publishers will lead to closer cooperation between stakeholders, as well as the unification of the applicable judiciary standards in respective member states.”

Additional members like Mind Sports South Africa and Russian Esports Federation and others from all over the world had also either submitted their candidates or expressed their intention to do so before the deadline pass.

The 2020 Referee Academy Program is a project led by IESF in partnership with the City of Busan and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA).

Candidates for IESF’s International Esports Referee program may only be nominated by member federations. Such nominations must be made by Wednesday, February 12th to make their nominations, and IESF shall advise all members on Friday, February 14th of the ten candidates that are selected to attend.
