DOTA 2 Medal Round Results

DOTA 2 Final Results:

Gold: Sweden (Rasmus Blomdin, Andreas Ragnemalm, Charlie Arat, Jerry Lundkvist, Gustav Magnusson)

Silver: Thailand (Anurat Praianun, Peerapat Butta, Kittikorn Inngoen, Worawit Mekchai, Poomipat Trisiripanit)

Bronze: Finland (Tomas Sainio, Samu Hautala, Joni Fält, Niklas Koskinen, Peetu-Elmeri Väätäinen)



The first medal game of the11th Esports World Championship Seoul 2019 took place Friday, December 13th, when Finland faced the Philippines in the Bronze Medal Match of the DOTA 2 tournament. Finland went on to defeat the Philippines 2 games to 0 to secure the bronze medal.

The Gold Medal Match of the DOTA 2 tournament pitted powerhouse Sweden against the upstart team from Thailand. The Swedish team included gamers “Chessie”, “Xibbe”, “Charlie”, “EGM”, and “s4”. The team from Thailand was made up of gamers “Boom”, “Sur”, “Bin”, “Q” and “Jo”. The table was set for an exciting final best-of-three match, which was played on Saturday, December 14th at 11:30am KST.

Thailand come out gunning, and in both games they looked like they might be headed for victory. However, Sweden’s patient and methodical strategy proved too strong, and they came back to win two straight for a 2 games to 0 gold medal win.
