IESF’s mission is to further esports on a global scale. This is done together with our national federations around the world. IESF wants to see a world where esports is accepted as a real sport and that esport athletes can compete on the same level and with the same support as athletes from traditional sports.
IESF also supports international sport federations and the international sports society to adapt and advance into digital era. Since 2016, IESF will support, advise, and guide IFs for its smooth transition towards technological advancement.
Esports has advanced together with the development of the IT industry since the 20th century. IESF has focused on expanding the ecosystem of esports, also taking athlete welfare into top priority. IESF continues to take steps to coordinate game developers and relate with media and publishers to ultimately make a better esports world.
An organization, having the structure of a NF, whose membership qualification has been approved by the General Meeting obtains Full Membership, and shall be called a Full Member.
An associate member hosts and operates esports tournaments and events in its own nation to select representative players to be sent to IESF’s international tournament events. They also promote and support IESF and its businesses as following all the directions regarding the relationship with IESF.
Where the Board is aware of an organization that fulfills the criteria of being esports related but cannot be accepted into Membership, then the Board may have the authority to admit such organization into Affiliate Membership under the following conditions:
